RCM-SAR-Station 25

About RCM-SAR-Station 25

The 20 plus active members of Station 25 operate an open Titan 249 Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat (RHIB), the Amarah Gabriel. In addition, we have a number of junior members in training.

We regularly participate in co-training with Salt Spring Island Search and Rescue (SSI SAR), and neighbouring Stations. In addition, Station 25 have trained with the Canadian Coast Guard doing towing, pacing and search techniques and Salt Spring Air on the best methods of towing an airplane. Both of these organizations are also in Ganges Harbour.

Station 25 volunteers offer safe boating programs for students of the local school district, conduct Courtesy Safety checks for the marine community, and assist the Island Wildlife Natural Care Centre in transporting injured animals and birds needing help to Salt Spring Island.

Our location:

Station 25 is based in Ganges Harbour on Salt Spring Island, the largest of the Southern Gulf Islands. The Gulf Islands offer some of the finest recreational boating in the world. We have protected waters and beautiful islands, but occasionally significant tides, currents and changeable weather.
