RCM-SAR Station 27 Nanaimo Visits for Joint Training

Five members of Station 27 Nanaimo brought their newly-refurbished RHIB south to Salt Spring for an evening training session in choppy seas. It was an excellent opportunity for Station 25 volunteers to practice handling a vessel equipped with cutting edge electronics and controls, twin 225 HP engines and a raised superstructure set on shock-absorbers to provide a smoother ride at higher speeds in rough seas.

The improvements to their rescue vessel allow the Nanaimo crew to achieve quicker response times when lives are on the line.

A special thanks to Ken, John, Bob, Mladen and Jerry of Station 27 Nanaimo for making the voyage to Salt Spring,  through inclement conditions, to allow for this joint training exercise.
